Women’s Auxiliary Update…
On Sunday, August 22, 2010 during the Women’s Auxiliary
Service, Sis. Janis Deas officially passed the presidential torch for the
Women’s Auxiliary to Sis. Qualyn McIntyre. The women’s choir rendered songs of
praise during this service and the sermon was by Pastor Earnest Deas. Sis. Deas
was honored for her years of service with a gift certificate from the women.
Sis. Deas will serve as advisor for the Women’s auxiliary
department, Sis. Lucita Alford, Secretary, and among the teachers were Sis.
Josiland Jackson, teacher for the married women and Sis. Ariel McIntyre, teacher
for the Girl’s Club. The women’s auxiliary continues to meet on 2nd Sundays
after morning worship service. They travel and participate in the regional
services in addition to their local service times. They have been involved in
outreach ministries through the Beverly Healthcare Center, local family shelters
and currently are collecting clothing for a local shelter. They have also held
“Worship in Pink” services for the past three years to bring attention and
awareness for the need for raising funds for “the cure” and are admonished to
“pray for the cure.” They also bring attention to all other kinds of cancer
through this service. Additionally they help to increase awareness of domestic
violence, during the month of October.
