GIVING BACK.......

On November 23, 2010 Bro. George Johnson, husband of Sis. Anita Johnson made his transition from labor to reward after a brief illness. A memorial service for Bro. Johnson was held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the church. Sis. Johnson was unable to attend church regularly due to her husband’s illness and taking care of him. After the passing of her husband, Sis. Johnson made a renewed commitment to church attendance and participation.  She testified that she was so appreciative of the church’s support during her husband’s illness and subsequent death, that she wanted to do something to show her gratitude.  Sis. Johnson decided  to give back to the church in her husband’s memory by making separate donations to each auxiliary or department in the church.  On Sunday, January 30, 2011,  Sis. Johnson gave each auxiliary or department a donation to help them minister or help others.  She presented the donations to each department head or representative.  Sis. Johnson continues to be a very faithful member, and because of her witness, a dear friend of hers is now a member of the church.  She also ensures that her grand children come to church and be faithful in Sunday school, and the children’s choir. We thank God for Sis. Johnson’s love for the church and her generous spirit
