SUNDAY SCHOOL DEPARTMENT BREAKFAST SEMINAR

On Sunday morning, January 30, 2011 at 8:00a.m., the Sunday school department held a breakfast seminar for its instructors as well as the instructional staff of the youth department.  The breakfast was catered by our in-residence caterer, Sis. Latonya Marsh. Dec. Al Alford, chair of the Sunday school department often plans working sessions for his teachers to help ensure that everything is on track, and that the teachers are getting the assistance they need to be able to reach the students.  Special guest instructor for this session was Sis. Qualyn McIntyre.  Sis. McIntyre is a former teacher in the Atlanta public school system and now works as a Teacher-in-Residence for Department of Learning Excellence at APS.  Sis. McIntyre was able to bring much to the table to help assist the teachers in their class room preparations and admonishing them to give more attention to additional visual aids that will help students to remember “the lesson.”  All in attendance was much appreciative of the information they received.  We will have to poll the Sunday school students to see if these visual aids are being put into practice…
