YOUTH ENJOY CHURCH RETREAT 2011…

 Approximately twenty youth took advantage of the opportunity to get away from school, homework, chores, and their other daily routines in order to attend the church retreat.  One youth, Azaria, invited two of her friends to also come along.  The youth were very excited about coming to the mountains.  They did not look for a theme park, because there were none, but they took in the scenery, enjoyed the fresh mountain air, and boy did they eat!

 They did not seem to miss the television as they bonded with one another.  In addition to running around and playing with each other, they also brought along their own games, played checkers, and learned how to play “Blink,”  They also participated on the “Hallelujah Walk,” horseback riding, and the trip to Amicacola Falls. 

Some of the youth were too young to actually ride the ponies, so they were seated so that their photos could be taken.  They were still very enthusiastic even though they didn’t actually get to ride! There excitement showed in every thing that they did over the weekend, and they were present at each activity and at the church service on Sunday. 

One of the teens had a hidden secret, don’t tell anyone, but Santeria Gibson can really play some checkers!!  She is truly a formidable opponent!
