Church Retreat 2010 Held in Georgia Mountains…
During the month of September (10th-12th),
our annual church retreat was held. This year’s accommodations were at the
Ridges Resort & Club Lake Chatuge in Young Harris, GA. All of the views in the
immediate surrounding area were picturesque and awesome to behold! Sis. Betty
Arnold, Retreat Coordinator certainly picked a great location for the retreat.
Yes, she did it again! A few of the saints had two overnight stays with the
majority of the group arriving on Saturday morning. The weekend included dinner
& fellowship Friday night, breakfast(s), the Halleleujah Walk, an afternoon of
fun of your own or at the indoor fun center, touring the area and shopping;
Saturday evening dinner was followed by fellowship assembly & games; Sunday
morning worship included recognition of Grandparents’ Day and lunch following
the worship service. The only complaint most had was “the time just wasn’t long
enough.” The annual retreat is a family event that also allows for the saints
to get to know one another on a more personal level, and get away to enjoy the
wonder, and awesomeness of God’s handiwork, in fellowship and worship. Dec.
Alonzo Alford assisted Sis. Arnold to ensure that everything went well.
Finally, only Sis. Arnold could find a buffet dinner for around $5.95 per person
on a Saturday evening…We’re now gearing up for Church Retreat 2011!!!!
