The Music Ministry
The goal of the Music department is to prepare the congregation for praise, worship, and consecration through songs. The Music Ministry consists of an Adult, Young Adult, and Youth Choir. The Young Adult and Youth Choir sing during the 4th Sunday Morning Worship Service. Anyone interested in being a part of the Music Ministry should contact Bro. Kenneth Jackson or Sis. Dawn Deas.

CHOIR ROBES ARRIVE…
The Progressive Church Combined Choir members decided that had become too much of a chore to decide which color to wear on lst & 3rd Sundays to be uniformly dressed, therefore they voted to purchase choir robes in the year 2005. Prior to this decision the choir primarily wore white on lst Sundays and black or navy on 3rd Sundays. For the most part, 5th Sundays became a day “to wear what you’d like.”
The group decided to have the robe color match the décor of the church sanctuary, with hunter green the primary color, and gold as the in-laid color. After being notified by the robe company that we needed to choose a trim and samples were sent, because of the time constraint and the choir didn’t get the opportunity to view the samples, Pastor Deas decided that the afro-centric trim would go well with the color of the robes.
The robes finally arrived in January! On the lst Sunday in February the choir marched in wearing their robes singing “Enter In, Enter In, All God’s Children Enter In.” We are grateful that we no longer have to haggle over what we will wear to sing God’s songs. It is good to sing in a more uniformed manner and add to the church decorum as we sing.
