THE GREAT COMMISSION…

All through out the church year of 2007 through December 2008, the word of God is continuously being preached and taught at the church.  We hear the word of God through Sunday School, Bible Class, Morning Worship, Women’s Auxiliary, and the Brotherhood Department, and the Lord speaks to us in Prayer Services, just to name a few vehicles.  The word of God is also often communicated through song.

The most important role of the church is following the Great Commission given to us in St. Mark 16:15-16: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

We thank God for the men of God who rightly divides and gives us the Word of God.  Truly it is food for our souls.  Many have heard the word preached and taught by our Pastor, Elder Earnest Deas, expounded upon by our Ministers, Elder-Elect Tarryl McIntyre, Elder-Elect Steve Sweet, and Elder-Elect Matthew Pinkney.  The Lord has blessed in the beginning of this year, 2009 to have added two brothers who are aspiring ministers, Bro. La’Monte Jackson and Bro. Alan Murray.

We thank God for the seventeen souls that came and were baptized in Jesus’ name during our special time of prayer, fasting and harvesting, from November 16th through December 31, 2008.  We praise and thank God for all those who heard the word of God and have obeyed, and have been baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are also grateful for the word taking root in many of those hearts, and those souls who have been faithful to the work of the Lord. Even though a few have seemed to have fallen by the wayside, the majority are still faithful and coming to hear more of God’s word. The anointing has been falling and prayer continues and many have gotten a break through even though they have not acknowledged it yet, God’s presence is also evident in their lives.

BUT, because there is so much more work to be done, we admonish and encourage our pastor and Elders-Elect to continue to “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” (II Timothy 4:2)

O Christians, there is work to be done!
