During the 3rd week of July, our annual
Vacation Bible School was held at the church. This year’s coordinator was Sis.
Qualyn McIntyre and the theme was “Let’s Go Green for Jesus.” All of the
classes had discussions regarding “The Creation” and how to care for everything
that God has given us on the earth. Activities included daily devotions, class
work and discussions, arts and crafts, and music. Class groups included: (a)
infants and toddlers; (b) pre-K and primary students; (c) junior students; (d)
teens, and (e) adults. Taking care of the Arts & Crafts was a guest instructor,
Ms. Ovura T. Crosby, assisted by Sis. Nicole Meridy. Infants & Toddler
Instructor was Sis. Cynthia Howard, assisted by Sis. Blanche Holmes; pre-K and
Primary--Sis. Ariel McIntyre; Juniors--Sis. Felicia Washington; Teens--Sis.
Yolanda Murphy, and Adults--Min. Tarryl McIntyre and Dec. Alonzo Alford. At the
closing assembly, participants received certificates, and arts and crafts items
made during the week were displayed. Each day began with a lite meal
coordinated by Sis. Latonya Marsh. Van drivers for the week were Deacons Jerome
Howard and Larry Coleman. Our thanks to all of the staff members for a job well
done and we look forward to VBS 2011!
