May-June 2010 - Graduation & Recognition…
Our May graduation included three college graduates
and four high school students. Receiving their Masters Degree with honors from
Georgia State University were Eldrin & Kriss Deas. Receiving his Associate’s
Degree was Sean McIntyre. High school graduates included: Chasity Campbell,
Bobby Edwards, Santeria Gibson, Jerron Howard & Iresha Marsh. Kriss & Eldrin
has since relocated to the DC area where Eldrin is employed with the American
Insitute for Research in the Behavioral Sciences as a Test Development
Associate, and Kriss is a Geosystems Instructor and Highlander Academic Alliance
Coordinator at McLean High School, Fairfax County, VA. Jerron is enrolled at
Dekalb Perimeter College in Auto Mechanics, and Chasity & Santeria plan to
enroll in college early 2011. Congratulations to all of our graduates.
Also, during the month of June all of the graduates were honored by the Youth
department during the 4th Sunday morning Youth worship service. The
Youth department also recognized Jerron Howard and Santeria Gibson for their
exemplary service in faithfulness to the New Generation Choir and in their
church attendance, and Dec. Larry Coleman for his faithful service and
dedication in working with the Youth department. All of the graduates also
received a small love offering.
Participating in the Youth service giving tribute to their
mother, Yolanda Murphy, were Anthony, Amber and Nicole visiting from the St.
Petersburg, FL church.
Finally, during the month of June a farewell reception was
held for Kriss and Eldrin Deas as they prepared to relocate to the Washington,
DC area. They will be missed by all because of their faithfulness, and
participation in various areas of the church’s ministry.
