BROTHERHOOD
DEPARTMENT HOLDS MOTHER’S DAY DINNER…
On Sunday, May 11,
2008 immediately following the morning worship service, the Brotherhood
Department served the women a wonderful Mother’s Day Dinner. The dinner
was held especially for the mothers and all of the sisters of the church
and visitors. Although some of the women had made other plans, those
who stayed can all agree that there was no better soul-cooking anywhere
else in the metro Atlanta area that day.
If you would read the menu from the
article “Brotherhood Serves Dinner of Love” you can see the menu just
about repeated, of which we were all absolutely thrilled! Added to this
menu was shrimp/sausage/rice jambalya, and delicious sweet potato
cobbler. If you have never tasted this cobbler, be sure to ask us about
it.
Even though the
brothers cannot be seen in the photos accompanying this article, they
were busy as usual, serving and treating us as “royalty.” This dinner
has become a tradition at the church, and the sisters all vote that this
tradition should always continue!
Deacon Jerome
Howard, is brotherhood chair. Bro. Greg Marsh made sure our tables were
amply decorated with beautiful vases w/roses. After the dinner, each
mother was presented a rose. Brothers, we applaud your love and
kindness to the sisters and will be seated at the tables next year
awaiting those delectable dishes. We truly thank God for the men of God
who are servants indeed.
